A lot has changed for Ritchie Torres—and for most of us—since his first visit to the show. When we met three years ago, he was the youngest person ever elected to the New York City Council, a fierce new voice for marginalized voters—many of whom, during the COVID-19 pandemic—are essential workers; for LGBTQ rights, affordable housing, universal heathcare; against UnBanking and systemic racism.
Now, that platform has garnered him a primary victory so strong that he’s New York City’s newest elected Congressman—certified August 5th—three months BEFORE election day. How did he do that?
